Depending on the specified fontsize, the text may not fit the available height and width.
In this case your specified fontsize will be ignored and automatically a smaller fontsize will be used until the text just fits the available height and width.
If the orientation is landscape the shortest image side is considered the image height.
If the orientation is portrait the longest image side is considered the image height.
The maximum fontsize allowed is the image height * 0.2

Text A: fontsize 5 px
Text B: fontsize 20 px
Text C: fontsize 100 px
Text D: fontsize 10 px
The fontsize of text C is automatically adjusted so the text just fits the available height and width.
